《商務(wù)禮儀》的內(nèi)容模式為:由一個(gè)即將走上工作崗位的大學(xué)畢業(yè)生找工作開始,以此人物為主線,在走上工作崗位后,圍繞其工作崗位各個(gè)環(huán)節(jié)所涉及的禮儀展開。這些禮儀包括:面試禮儀、著裝禮儀、接待禮儀、電話禮儀、餐桌禮儀、會議禮儀、談判禮儀、禮品禮儀、自助餐禮儀、慶典禮儀。
《商務(wù)禮儀》有兩個(gè)特點(diǎn),一是英漢雙語,既面向商務(wù)英語專業(yè)學(xué)生,也面向漢語類相關(guān)專業(yè)學(xué)生;二是將商務(wù)禮儀融人情景會話及商務(wù)活動中,而沒有單純地講禮儀和介紹案例。
隨著我國對外交往活動的增加,越來越多的國內(nèi)機(jī)構(gòu)和企業(yè)都與國外相關(guān)行業(yè)開展了交流和合作。在對外交往中,要做到大方得體,既尊重了對方,又保持自己的尊嚴(yán),就必須懂得對外交往的禮儀。
此書是編者很久以前就有的想法。2004年,本校商務(wù)英語專業(yè)開設(shè)了商務(wù)文化課,里面涉及的內(nèi)容大多是商務(wù)禮儀,其中有許多不同的禮儀習(xí)俗,比如不同的國家對目光接觸的禮儀要求是不同的。美國人在與人交談過程中喜歡盯著對方的眼睛,而英國人相反,不愛與對方長時(shí)間對視,因此當(dāng)美英雙方談判時(shí),美國人的“盯人戰(zhàn)術(shù)”常常會弄得英國人“躲躲藏藏”,雙方很容易不歡而散。但如果雙方都了解對方的禮儀要求,就可以避免誤會,順利合作。這樣的例子很多。以往所采用的材料大都是全英文本科教材,不太適合高職學(xué)生使用,因此編者萌生了編寫一本高職層次學(xué)生用的商務(wù)禮儀教材的想法。
在現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中,大多數(shù)人能夠正常地與人交往,但是在商務(wù)場合,許多交往禮儀被規(guī)范化,沒有經(jīng)過學(xué)習(xí)和訓(xùn)練就不能達(dá)到商務(wù)禮儀的要求,從而影響交往的效果,甚至有損本人、公司以至于國家的形象。如何接遞名片,如何站、坐,如何注視對方,交往距離如何,如何就餐等都是商務(wù)禮儀所涉及的內(nèi)容。

Daniel: Ive got it. It sounds cool.
Vivian: After the speech by our president, we will be having a buffet reception. You have to make sure to avoid putting your attention on the food instead of the people. Id recommend that you keep smiling and it is a good time for social contact. And do not smoke.
Daniel: Actually I dont smoke. Anything else I need to take notice of?
Vivian: Keep your right hand clean and dry in case you may probably shake hands with others. Dont talk with others with your mouth full of food. It is considered impolite.
Daniel: I see. If I feel like getting acquainted with someone, what do you think I should do?
Vivian: I was just having a bit of advice on this. The safest way is to be introduced to the person. You can turn to me that day.
Daniel: Vivian, thank you very much. I learned a lot today.
Vivian: Its my pleasure. I used to be a newcomer and I got help from my colleagues.

Scene Three At the Anniversary(The 30th Anniversary of Joy Toy company is at the Grand Hotel. All the guests have been seated. It begins. The president, Mr. Pan gives a speech. ) Ladies and gentlemen,
Good evening. For 30 years, JOY has been more than a toy company. It has been a beacon of merriment and enlightenment for the people around us —— the children and their parents who purchased our products, the partners who chose us in the competitive market, and most of the colleagues who went through thick and thin for so many years. I should say everyone, here tonight at the anniversary is lucky since we choose JOY as a career for life. It did or it definitely will bring you merriment and enlightenment.
Teamwork is another bonus for each of us. It is the spirit of this company. When you meet up with challenges, it encourages you to welcome them. Then youll find yourself wiser, stronger, and more capable than you were the day before.
The latest year was a tough but exciting one. We endured the hardest time brought by the global finanical tsunami and we achieved an excellent sale target, which is worth being mentioned at this special and memorial moment.
