本書基于1949—2021 年期間的歐洲中期天氣預(yù)報中心高分辨率海洋水文氣象逐月和逐日再分析數(shù)據(jù)、衛(wèi)星遙感數(shù)據(jù)(交叉標(biāo)定多平臺風(fēng)矢量分析數(shù)據(jù),CCMP)、日本的全球大洋環(huán)流模型所模擬的海流數(shù)據(jù)(OFES)、中國氣象局上海臺風(fēng)研究所(CMASTI)及美國的聯(lián)合臺風(fēng)警報中心(JTWC)提供的熱帶氣旋數(shù)據(jù),對西北太平洋和北印度洋海域開展云量、氣溫、風(fēng)、浪、海表面溫度、表層流等要素以及影響該海域的熱帶氣旋、溫帶氣旋等強天氣系統(tǒng)的診斷計算及特征分析,采用統(tǒng)計分析與天氣學(xué)相結(jié)合的方法給出上述海域的分析評價結(jié)果及對應(yīng)的成果圖件。本書采用的數(shù)據(jù)和分析方法均為海洋氣象學(xué)通用,分析結(jié)論真實可靠,具有較強的參考應(yīng)用價值。
